Not bad but no iPad killer!, February 9, 2011
By Lawrence Decker "MBS" (Florida)
Bought this for testing in a medical office environment. Tablet is lightweight and easy to use but way behind in technology and features that my iPad offers. Screen is pretty accurate but over sensitive, when trying to scroll it will select and start an app 1/2 the time. Comes with a bunch of apps that cannot be deleted, just moved to a different page.
If you just want a tablet to beat on and use for email, calendar and internet this would be a great choice but for anyone with serious business needs save your money and buy an iPad.

slow slow slow..., February 9, 2011

Sadly I have a lot of complaints about this tablet, and I am currently writing it's review on the system itself. If only to use as insperation.

Compairing this to the nintendo dsi browser... is poor. This is about the same speed, but it makes up for the fact that it can actuilly load pages without saying that it ran out of memory. The gps, sadly... is worse. I never got it to work, even when I put the antinna on to the roof of my ~stationary~ car, and dance around as though I were trying to make it rain. All I got out of that successfully was a series of funny looks and selective witchhujters debating if I was possesed until they seen I had this superpad.

Alright, perhaps it didnt quite go that far, but the fustration of it all would probibly make even an alien throw all kinds of selective language at it. All of it probibly not so good. Especilly when common sense kicks in and questions why a google powered device doesnt automadically come with google chrome.

On to the touchscreen. It is worse then the nintendo dsi. Even after calibration, it will select areas that are nowhere near where you clicked. You have to constantly watch the screen to see if it is even typing in the area that you want, along with the letters. There is no astric line to indicate where you are about to type, which can get rather fustrating when checking/replying to your email, forum post, or writing a review as you see here. Worse off when there is no highlight, or copy/paiste.

Now my personal gripes, no antivirus is built in. Normally your swamped with windows noting your subscription to nortion or mccaffee, or something... sadly, there is nothing. Dont get me wrong when I say that in itself is annoying, but there isn't even enough room without a sd card to even calm my already shredded nerves on the thought of this thing getting destroyed on the first day. Even now I am debating on turning this thing off and letting it sit until my SD cards arrive. I would also be happier if there was a dvd player.

I am glad this has an alarm feature though, to wake me up every 15 minutes with how slow this thing is. I bet you se up 2/3rds of the battery power after loading three pages.

If it wasn't for the fact that I need a portable system that can fit in my purse, i would return this peice of crap. Its a sorry hunk of plastic, and it only makes me want to test that "waterproof" icon on the box. Then again the "dont throw away" icon is also there, so poop... my plans got foiled again.

I dont want to see how a flash website looks on this thing, but I am expexting nothing less then more dissapointment.

The only plus side is if you manage to make it work, then people can marvile at your ability to actually use it.

Not that great, February 9, 2011
By Derrick G
I am very disappointed in my purchase. The Android app doesnt work properly. I was able to access the app store once, after that I keep getting a server error. I will work with it for a couple of more days and if I cant get it to work correctly I'm sending it back. Also I ordered the product new, when i got it the box wasnt shrink wrapped, the tablet was in a plain plastic sleeve with a single piece of tape over the flap, not sure if that qualifies as original packaging. Until I can figure this thing out I WOULD NOT recommend this product to any one.

This isnt bad..it basically is a android tablet..the touch screen totally sucks and is really frustrating..it picks up wifi really easily, so that was a good thing..the camera on mine was broke and the wifi didn't work cy college so i had to return it. if i wanted to play android games and surf the web at home..this is perfect. Likewise the usb mouse and keyboard work really well however im just gonna wait and upgrade to the mortoloa xoom

Superpad 10.2 Probably Good on 2nd or 3rd Generation, February 8, 2011
By ProudlyServed
Read the reviews on Superpad and they were quite good. Product description was also very positive. Unfortunately, the model I received just didn't live up to the press and reviews. I've been using iPads for a year and Galaxy tablets for 4 months, probably raising my expectations for the Superpad. It is configured with so many features that would be good, if the tablet functioned as advertised. Touchpad responsiveness was poor, as was the webcam. Not having access to Google apps was a negative too. Perhaps, when the Superpad is on a future release, it will be better.

It's worth of the price!, February 3, 2011
By Chas
I ordered this item on 1/26/11, and got it five days later with the shipping cost only $5.99. That's incredible considering it's coming from Hong Kong,China.
It looks really good and feels very solid when you hold it. After power it up, it's to my surprise that the unit is in Chinese language, luckily, I can read Chinese. But I am wondering what would happen to the non-Chinese users.
I had really tough time to use it in the beginning because the unit was locked. I could not find the way to unlock it, and nothing was mentioned in the menu. Part of the problem may be because I am used to use the Android system yet. But the unit hardly respond to my finger touch. In the menu, it does not give any support information, website, etc. It does not even tell me who the manufacture is. Finally, I found an instruction on YouTube, and I start using the stylus to operate it. It worked fine in most of the functions. It's fairly easy to set up the wireless connection.
Consider the price and the power of the unit, it's pretty fast. But the browsing is kind of slow comparing to any laptop I have, including my EeePC 900. I don't know if it's the wireless card installed or what. I tried it on the Ethernet connection, it's slow too. I have a very fast internet connection at home.
It comes with Android 2.1, hopefully, I will be able to upgrade it to the newer OS soon. I think it has only 256MB ram installed, does anyone know if it's upgradeable? Can I upgrade the OS right now? Does anyone know what their website is for support?

Hopefully, I will feel better when I learn more about the OS. I have tried Pandora, it works great. Will other function, and have an updated review later. It got great potential to be a very good product.

By the way, charging the battery is a very slow.

Great Value for the Price!, January 31, 2011

I have been using this android Superpad now for about a week. I wanted to wait until I had a chance to see how it works before I wrote a review.

The Superpad came with everything as promised. It was shipped from China and arrived quickly via FedEx at no additional charge. Upon opening the box, I found everything inside that was promised- pad, soft case, 110v charger, GPS antenna and manual. Of course it needed charging and I plugged it in overnight.

When I started to use the pad I found it was just like my Android phone in many respects. It took me little time to get familiar with the pad because of my past experience. The Google Marketplace was installed and it was easy to browse and install various apps that I wanted.

I have been able to upload many of the apps that I use on my phone as well as an "office" suite for all my docs I want to have with me. I was able to find an internet browser that supports most of the movie formats and that is a great addition. I have been using the 2- USB plugs to bring many items from my desktop into the pad and the fact that it has two memory card slots- micro sd- makes its memory grow to 64 gb. The camera works well and overall, I have had no problems with the unit.

I think my experience with the Android phone has helped in knowing how the OS works and understanding the Superpad better. It is no different than when you go from Windows to Windows 7- it takes a little time to get used to something new.

This is one slick little gadget that I am finding very useful- at $200-300 less than an i-Pad and with more standard features- it is a great buy!

I never had an IPad, but this a good tablet PC for the price. It's a great introduction to a tablet.

So far, so good., January 29, 2011

Arrived today in great condition. I bought this as an alternative to a super expensive iPad to use at college instead of lugging my heavy laptop every day. The initial charge to 100% takes quite some time, I've been charging it for about 4 hours now and it's only at 60%, but I've also been using it during that time, so that probably isn't helping much. It runs just like an android phone, only on a much larger screen.

First off, you have to set the date and time, and if you use the weather widget, change it from Beijing, however, I can't figure out how to change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Maybe redownloading the widget will help. It is in English, so you don't have to worry about figuring out how to change the language from Chinese, which is nice. Unlike the reviews I've seen on similar apads, the android market is pre-installed, so as soon as you are hooked to your wi-fi you can start plunking apps down. I highly suggest ordering two 16GB mini-SD cards to go with it, the android OS takes up a little over half of the 2GB internal HD. After you set the time and the weather widget, calibrate the screen from the settings menu. I didn't do that and was having issues using the on screen keyboard until I did so. Now it responds just fine to my touch.

I've seen on reviews for similar products that you need to use a stylus or a fingernail to manipulate the screen, but that's not so with this one. Your fingerpad works just fine. It's not a multi-touch screen, but hey, it's only $200, so you can't have everything, but the screen size is big enough that you really don't need it, plus it does have a zoom option.

Don't purchase an iPad case and try to use it for this. It won't work. iPad's have a 9.7" screen where this one has a 10.2". You'd be better off buying a case for a netbook. Later on I'm going to hook up a USB mouse and keyboard and see how the system responds. I'll update my review after I've played with it some more, but so far, I really like it.

We have a long way to go....., January 29, 2011
By dehartjw
I purchased this device and feel a little mis-lead. Although if you look at the specs it does NOT say "MULTI-TOUCH" but read the description it says Android 2.1 (which this unit has) allows multi-touch... Well.. yes Android 2.1 does "allow" for it... but the device also needs to "support" it, which this device does NOT...

Unfortunately multi-touch is HUGE when it comes to the benifit of these devices. Without it you can not zoom in and out easily (you have to use the +/- zoom to do that... just does not work smoothly. I would say NOOOO comparison to the I-PAD.. The I-PAD multi-touch is sooo smooth and the screen is super clear. This machine the touch is ... ok (not great) and the screen is readable... but not great.

GPS... ha... well yes it has a "connector" and an external antenna/receiver... not very usable for the portable market... I have an Android phone that has GREAT GPS in a much smaller size than this thing... they couldn't fit it in ??? come on ..

Charging.... uuuuugh... come on USB charging has been around forEVER guys.... this propriotary charger is horrible..

Didn't notice this at first ..but NO BLUETOOTH either....

The ports are great.. haven't tried them all yet but the ethernet works, microSD and usb works for thumbdrive, mouse and keyboard.

DON'T BOTHER IF YOU NEED:
- A Crystal clear screen
- Multi-touch
- GPS built in (don't want to carry a receiver around)
- Super sensitive touch response
- 3G via SIM card
- A standard usb charger
- A bluetooth option
- A Netflix app (in progress though I hear)

GREAT IF YOU NEED:
- Extra storage / removable storage
- Multiple Internet conn. options (wifi,ethernet,3G via modem)
- To check email
- To test / play with apps
- A cheap Internet Tablet for kitchen/kids
- To plug in mouse/keyboard

NOTE:
works very well with mouse and keyboard (just wish it was bluetooth. I even used a wireless dongle for a wireless keyboard and mouse.. Worked GREAT.

The unit is much better than other Android Tabs I have seen... but I think there are better yet to come especially with Android 3.0 release
